I sit alone
it's so damn hot
I can hardly think

Look to the plains
below my feet
bush fires on the brink

Wind so strong
can barely stand
birds no longer fly

Dusty air
greets my face
the Earth and grass so dry

A patch of green
hugs a bank
last water for the year

The farmer's plight
I understand
harvest brings a tear

Trees they too
suffer and groan
share the tragic pain

Wishing hard
to bring relief
with buckets full of rain
